Brian got his first taste of international competition in Vienna with the QRC/Holy Name Convent choir directed by Geraldine Connor and Michael Steele at the 1980 Youth Music Festival. In 1984, he was part of the Marionettes Chorale directed by Gretta Taylor, which placed second in the World Choral Festival in Cork, Ireland. Brian continued performing as a soloist and decided to specialize in opera. He performed as a high Baritone, and in 2010 started to redesign his repertoire towards Heldentenor roles, under the attentive guidance of specialists in this field.
